The Murtala Muhammed Foundation supports entrepreneurs for business development, provides scholarships to the less privileged and supports other individuals and organizations. Assistance and support are usually given after due consideration of applicants' requests. The following organizations and individuals have benefited so far:

Computer for schools programme


The Murtala Muhammed Foundation took its New Venture Development to new heights when it donated the first set of computers to Rumfa College, Kano State, Nigeria. The initiative is part of the Foundation’s literacy development programme through computer education. The computer donation is geared towards the literacy development and education of the students and staff.
Earlier in the year, the Foundation partnered with Computer Aid International to make the initiative a reality. Computer Aid International is a world renowned provider of high quality refurbished computers. 15 Computers were donated to Rumfa College by a member of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Risqua Muhammed assisted by the Northern Coordinator of the Foundation, Hajia Balaraba and Miss Anne Musyoki, Programme Officer, West Africa, Computer Aid International. This marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between Computer Aid International and Murtala Muhammed Foundation.
The principal officers of the College expressed their delight in the computer systems donated to their school. The National Vice President, Rumfa Old Boys Association (RUMFOBA), Alhaji Shehu Dalhatu enjoined other organizations to emulate the glowing contributions of the Murtala Muhammed Foundation in giving the young ones a better future.
The Foundation will be distributing more computer systems to schools so as to facilitate computer education by bridging the digital divide.


MMF Supports F.O.W.A.L.P

The Murtala Muhammed Foundation has lent its support to the Foundation for Widows and Less Privilege, in Bonny. MMF is supporting the Widows to acquire skill development machines and their learning program through a financial donation. F.O.W.A.L.P was established out of genuine concern for the welfare of widows and less privilege works in Bonny community to advance the social and economic conditions of the widows devastated and traumatized by the loss of their husbands. It works through Comforting Care, Advocacy, Rebuild and Readjust policy and empowerment.


International Women’s Society

MMF made a financial donation to the IWS in contribution to the significant work of advancing the cause of women in Nigeria particularly in Skills Acquisition and Widows Trust Fund of the Society. This donation was made at the Golden Jubilee and Investiture of the 50th President and Executive Committee of International Women’s Society, in Lagos.


Lekki Muslim Ummah Project
In entrenching peace, unity and the promotion of religious tolerance, MMF financially supported the Lekki Muslim Ummah Project in other to reduce the spate of conflict in Lekki, Ibeju-Lekki LGA, Lagos. In the recent past, the Lekki area has witnessed a series of violent confrontations. Its hoped that this support will promote the culture of peace in the area.


Centre for children with special needs

T
he Murtala Muhammed Foundation in furtherance of its philanthropy donated about half a million naira for the purchase of swing, slide and wheel to the playing ground of the Abuja Centre for Children with special needs.

 


Presentation of materials to ANWAB
ANWAB
The Murtala Muhammed Foundation in a bid to promote the activities and programmes of (ANWAB) Anglo-Nigerian Welfare Association for the Blind, made financial donations and materials. The materials were used to make brailed study materials for blind individuals.

OGEO  (GHANA)

To shore up support and to help increase the girl child’s accessibility to wholesome education in Africa, a key point in the MDGs, the Foundation recently made financial donation to the Obaa’s Girls Educational Outreach (OGEO), Tema, Ghana. OGEO is a non-governmental organization saddled with the need to lift up young girls by charting for them a brighter future through provision of good education

 

CHILDREN AND THE ENVIRONMENT (CATE)

The Murtala Muhammed Foundation has dedicated itself to support to worthy causes especially regarding environmental sustainability. This informed its ongoing support to (CATE) a non-governmental organization in Lagos dedicated to sensitizing the children about the gains of sustaining the environment.
 

INDIVIDUALS
Health 

The Foundation also assisted Alhaji Biliaminu Yussuf based on health grounds. The Foundation provided him with finance to offset his medical bills after a protracted stay in the clinic.


Pilgrimage  

As part of its philanthropic gesture, the Foundation also assisted Mr. Bulama Zumbula and Mr. peter Nwosu to achieve their desire, by facilitating their trips to observe the Hajj in Mecca and visit to Jerusalem respectively.
